Chapter Eight
Fasting
There are 2 types of “Fasting” … One is “Spiritual” according to God Almighty`s teachings … Ish 58 (6-14) … and the other is of a “Physical” nature where man deprive themselves of Food … “disfiguring” their Bodies to “appear” to be fasting. Jesus`s teaching in Matt 6 (16-18) states … “do not” be like the “Hypocrites” with a sad countenance (appearance) for they have their reward … but rather “Pray” to your Heavenly Father who sees and who dwells in a secrete place! The term “fast” means to go without food. There “is” food for the Spirit and there “is” food for the Physical. In John 4 (32-34) when Jesus was talking with his Disciples, Jesus stated … I have food of which you “do not” know and then further states and John 6 (53) … unless you “eat the flesh” of the Son of Man and “drink of his blood” … you have “no” life in you … then finally states and John 6 (55) … my flesh “is” food indeed, and my blood “is” drink indeed. What Jesus was talking about refers to Isaiah 58 (55-57), an acceptable “Fast” … chosen by God almighty … a Spiritual “sacrifice” … bringing your Soul into submission so that the Physical body “cannot” be defiled by “conscious thoughts” … exercised by the Demonic Spirits. Isaiah 58 (1-4) explains how man's knowledge of a “physical” Fast relates to hypocrisy and self-gratification … transgressing the Laws and Commandments, making “assumptions, deluding” themselves … further exploiting the simple through contentions and intimidations … This is unacceptable! Isaiah 58 (6-11) is a guideline from God Almighty himself as to what is expected when a “true fast” is offered as a sacrificial act … Holy and acceptable in the presence of his Holy Spirit? Let us examine verses 5 and 7 …verse by verse to appreciate what the Holy Spirit is emphasising. Verse 5 … “To afflict your Soul” … Meaning … being prepared to “allow” your Spiritual Soul to be subject to the Eternal judgement … being chastised by the Holy Spirit to produce Righteousness … being prepared to lay down your life for the truth” and for the brethren. “To bow down one's head” … To humble oneself under the “Mighty hand” of the Creator … acknowledge that a Higher Power “does” exist, who is able to defend … or destroy. “Sackcloth for ashes” … Acknowledging the “Mortal flesh” as Ashes or Dust and a vessel or house for the Soul specifically created to make the Spirit “manifestly visible” with the admittance that one day the body “will come off” and return back to where it had come … ashes to ashes, dust to dust and the Soul will return back to God who gave it … ref Ecclesiastes 12 ( 6-7). Verse 6 “To loose the bonds of wickedness” … Meaning to “refrain” from being judgmental … the pointing of the finger … making false assumptions and allegations … Jesus says in Matt 7 (1-3) … Judge “not” … and you “shall not” be judged … but with the measure you judge, it will be measured back to you. “Undo the heavy burdens” … Using the keys to the Kingdom of heaven. Matt 16 (19) and Matt18 (18) “Binding and loosing … “Do not” cast out Spirits because they will return with 7 Spirits worse than the “original” Spiritual host … Matt 12 (43-45) … but rather make your request known to Jesus … and the Holy Spirit “will” bind and loose the Demonic Spirits that hinder your progress. These hosts are “individually” identified in Gal 5 (16-21). “Let the oppressed go free” … These are the Souls who are bound by infirmities” (illnesses) … being afflicted by Demonic Spirits such as Schizophrenia, Down syndrome, Paraplegics, the blind the Deaf, the Mute, Lepers etc, etc, etc … any affliction that is found of the flesh caused through the workings of the Spirit of infirmity. One day when Jesus was walking he saw a man who was blind from birth … his disciples asked him … Who sinned? … this man or his parents? … Jesus replied, neither “Sinned” … but that the works of God “should be revealed” in him … ref John 9 (1-3). “To break the yoke” … This is achieved by being a doer, “Not” just the hearer … a total submission of the flesh, allowing the Holy Spirit a free will reign over the Spiritual Hosts in the vessel of your body for Jesus`s glory … to set an example to those on the outside, as to your obedience, loyalty, and belief of the “New Covenant” ref Heb 8 (8-13). Verse 7 “To share your bread” … This relates to your Spiritual knowledge … and the Spiritual Knowledge you are “prepared to share” with your fellow brethren. This teaching can be likened to Matt 25 (14-30) … the parable of the three servants who “received” talents. One received “5” talents, another received “2” talents and the “3rd” received “1” talent … each was rewarded according to their own efforts. The moral to this issue “is” … to him who has and was faithful … more was given … but to him who withheld … what he had, and thought he had, will be “taken” from him, and he himself will be cast out … ref Matt 7 (21-23) … Freely you have received, freely give. “House the poor who are cast out” …. This verse is about the Poor … the Homeless … the Despised who need to know that while they are in the physical form, their Souls are at home in the Spirit with Jesus in “his” temple. Your body “is” a house or home for the Spirit of your Soul … ref 1 Cor 6 (19-20) and where the Holy Spirit dwells which we acknowledge at the time of baptism … a House that is “available” to all who believe in Jesus, as the Christ and who are prepared to share their Spiritual knowledge and gifts. “Cloth the naked” … Born into sin, Born into death? and “naked” of Spiritual knowledge, unaware that daily the “Soul” needs to be “clothed” in line with the “body” being clothed. In the morning. When you have “broken” the fast from the previous night … (also known as breakfast) … sow the seeds of Righteousness … the Spiritual qualities that “clothe” your Soul. Put on the Spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Discernment, Prudence, Joy, Peace, Kindness, Faithfulness, Patience, Self-control, Meekness, Humbleness, Forgiveness, Justice, Repentance, Long-suffering. Thanksgiving, etc, etc, etc, all of these qualities “are” good Spiritual Hosts, mentioned as the attributes that will sustain your well-being through the day. You “do not” have … because you “do not” ask … and because you “do not” ask … the Demonic Spirits “control your thoughts and physical actions” no wonder one suffers justifiably. It is imperative you “acknowledge” your Soul, but firstly, acknowledge that your body “is” the temple for the “invisible” Spirit of God Almighty … 2 Cor 6 (16-17) and a “house” for your “Immortal” Soul. The flesh when acknowledged righteously “is the clothing” for the Soul and Spirit within, to make manifestly visible the Spirit you are serving and worshipping, either you are for Jesus, or you are against him, “a house divided” cannot stand … ref Matt 12 (25-26), by your Acts, you are manifestly visible in bodily form … your manner of “speech” confirms the Spirit entertaining your soul. Throughout verses 5 to 9 of Isaiah 58 … God Almighty clearly defines “his” expected requirements of an acceptable “Fast” … Holy and true in his sight … the “food” for the Soul … a total Spiritual offering without disfiguring the mortal body in any form … and if adhered to … produces a similar blessings to what is written in Deuteronomy 28 (1-13) whereby you can be ordained as a “Vessel of Glory”, released from all physical infirmities so you can produce “Righteous Acts” overshadowed by the Holy Spirit. When you pray, your prayers will be heard and answered … removing the barrier of “unbelief” that creates the ignorance in the conscious mind. Refrained from making accusations and the pointing of the finger. Extend your Soul by your knowledge of the Spiritual Realm to the untaught, about the hope of the promise of eternal salvation for the Soul … then the Powers of Darkness that has hindered you will be exchanged for Spiritual Hosts of light … ref 2 Cor 3. (2-6) Your Soul will be a light and guide … you will never “hunger or thirst again and your “Words” will be a spring of “living water” to the hearer. Many Souls will be found and restored … and you will be considered as a “Repair of the breach …Holy and acceptable. Honour the Sabbath day. Speak what is Righteous, Rejoice in the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ and let your Soul live. Serve the Creator, “not” the Creature … this is an “Acceptable Fast” and now you know the truth … You are without excuse, Amen.
